Happy Sunday, lovelies, and welcome back!

I had such a wonderful weekend, and I decided to do something a little different than what I would normally do. You know the saying: if you want a different outcome, you have to do something different. Well, that’s exactly what I did.

My precious niece invited me to join the Detroit Social Walk Club for a Saturday morning walk downtown along the Riverwalk. To my surprise, it was such a fulfilling experience.

The first thing that overwhelmed me—in the best way—was seeing so many women gathered together. They were friendly, welcoming, and so open. It was refreshing to be surrounded by beautiful women who appeared strong, yet were also honest enough to acknowledge that we all carry different struggles. I certainly do.

There was something so beautiful about the atmosphere. We laughed, we walked, we talked, and we simply enjoyed one another’s company. We met new people, exchanged conversations, and shared smiles for no other reason than to celebrate being present. From my perspective, it felt like women embracing who they are—their beauty, their strength, and their uniqueness—without feeling like they had to become someone else to fit in.

After our two-mile walk, the group invited everyone to brunch at Parlay. Initially, I wasn’t planning to go. I thought I’d head home. But by the end of the walk, something in me said, “Why not? Venture out. Try something new.”

And I’m so glad I listened.

While at brunch, I invited two young ladies to join the table with my niece, another girlfriend, and me. We ended up having such a wonderful time together. There was no competition, no jealousy, no judgment—just genuine conversation. We talked about who we are, what we do, what we’re passionate about, and some of the things life has been teaching us. Nothing too heavy, but enough to leave feeling encouraged and thinking, “I could definitely do this again.”

It reminded me how much we need community.

So today, I simply want to encourage every woman reading. I know how difficult it can be to make new friends as adults. Life is busy. We have responsibilities, careers, families, healing journeys, and all the things that come with adulting. Friendships don’t just happen anymore—they require intention.

So get out. Try something different. Meet someone new. Say yes to the invitation. Start the conversation. Mingle. Laugh. Enjoy the life God has given you, and allow yourself to experience the beauty that’s waiting outside of your comfort zone.

Sometimes, the blessing isn’t in doing more.

Sometimes, it’s simply in showing up.

Thank you so much for joining me today. Nothing too heavy—just a gentle reminder to embrace life, embrace community, and don’t be afraid to do something different.

Have a beautiful week, lovelies. I’ll see you next time.
