What’s up, grown woman community?

It feels like forever since I came and sat down to talk, blog, and share with y’all — but I’m back, and all is well. I’m healing, y’all. I feel real good. Like… real good.

These past three to four weeks, I’ve been working through some things, and one of the biggest things I experienced was letting go.

And honestly? It was hard.

What’s crazy is this whole journey really started because a romantic relationship came to a close. I thought I was only grieving that relationship, but God started showing me something deeper. He started revealing that other relationships in my life were being repositioned too. Friendships. Connections. Familiar spaces. Everything has been shifting into its rightful place.

Alignment.

And one thing I’m learning is this:
Everybody cannot go where God is taking me.

Some people are seasonal.
Some people are assignments.
Some people are mirrors.
And some people are simply not willing to grow beyond the version of themselves they’ve become comfortable with.

That realization hurt because one of the people closest to me basically told me they understood where I’m at on my healing journey, but that’s not where they are. They said their past traumas and stresses don’t bother them, and when they’re ready to seek therapy, healing, or support, they’ll let me know.

Even though it hurt, I was so proud of myself.

I’ve been attending the Momentum Academy — shout out to the Momentum Academy — and they’ve been giving me tools and frameworks to navigate situations like this. And something said during Bible study has stayed with me:

“When you pour into someone who is not ready for growth, that is not compassion — that is self-sabotage.”

That thing has been sitting in my spirit over and over again.

So when this person told me where they stood, I was proud of myself for being able to move forward and release them with love instead of forcing connection.

Because for me, it’s simple:
I want to be around people who are growing.

Whether we’re related, friends, or building community together, I want to be connected to people who are willing to move forward, reflect, heal, and evolve. I don’t want to stay stuck in the same place forever. We can’t keep talking about childhood pain 40-something years later without doing the work to move through it.

At some point, we have to look in the mirror.
Even just a little bit.

And recently, I heard a story about a woman traveling. When she got to the airport to check her luggage, the bag was overweight. Instead of removing things from the suitcase, she started rearranging everything inside of it, trying to proportion it differently as if somehow the weight would disappear.

Baby… the weight was still there.

And that thing preached to me.

Some of us keep rearranging unhealthy relationships, old habits, dead conversations, and emotional baggage trying to make it feel lighter when God is simply saying:

“Let it go.”

Stop reorganizing what He told you to release.
Stop carrying what’s been weighing you down.
Stop trying to make heavy things fit into your next season.

Let it go.

And I’m proud of myself because I am doing the work.

Yes, I’m on a healing journey —
but I’m also on a growing journey.

Because when you heal, you grow.
