Ladies… let me ask you something real.

What do you do when you feel stuck?

Stuck in a relationship… not because you want to be there, but because life feels intertwined.
Children are involved.
Finances are tight.
Support systems feel nonexistent.
Schedules are built around survival, not peace.

So what do you do when leaving doesn’t feel simple?

Let’s talk about it.

Because if we’re being honest… many of us have been there.

I know I have.

Recently, I found myself in a space where I had to ask, “How am I going to manage all of this on my own?”
A large mortgage. Bills that don’t play. Responsibilities that don’t pause.
And let’s be real—I’m a woman who enjoys her life. I like to step out, look good, feel good, treat myself.

So the thought of doing it all alone?
It felt heavy.

It felt… scary.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

You are never as stuck as fear makes you feel.

Sometimes what feels like being “stuck” is really being afraid to move.

And here’s the truth that carried me through:

There is always a ram in the bush. God will provide.

But—this is the part we don’t always like—

Sometimes provision doesn’t show up until after obedience.

Sometimes God doesn’t give you the full blueprint.
He just says, “Take the first step.”

And that step? It might feel blind.

And let’s talk about something else…

Stop beating yourself up trying to figure out, “How did I even get here?”

Sis… you got here one decision at a time.
Some out of love.
Some out of hope.
Some out of survival.
Some out of not knowing any better at the time.

But hear me clearly:

You cannot heal and shame yourself at the same time.

Beating yourself up will keep you stuck longer than the situation itself.

Give yourself grace.

You made the best decisions you could with what you had, what you knew, and what you felt in those moments. And now? You know more. You see more.

And that means you can choose differently.

Don’t get so caught up in the “how did I get here” that you delay your “how do I get out.”

So how do you begin to get unstuck?

For some women, it doesn’t start with physically leaving.

It starts with emotionally and mentally detaching.

A woman shared something with me that shifted my perspective. She said:

“I started distancing myself. I focused on me. I stopped doing things that I didn’t have the capacity or commitment for anymore.”

And that right there…

That’s a word.

Because ladies, we have to ask ourselves:

Why are we giving wifely benefits in a girlfriend position?

Why are we overextending, over-serving, and over-sacrificing…
for someone who is not showing up in alignment?

Marriage is more than a title. It’s covenant.

And if someone minimizes it as “just a piece of paper,”
you might need to ask… then why avoid it?

Let’s also be clear about something:

That person you’re with?
They were never assigned to complete you.

Happiness is not their job.

Peace is not their job.

Wholeness is not their job.

That work?
It belongs to you.

Getting unstuck looks like:

  • Being honest about what you feel
  • Acknowledging the red flags you’ve been excusing
  • Reclaiming your time, your energy, and your identity
  • Making small, intentional shifts—even before big moves happen

Sometimes it’s not about leaving overnight.

Sometimes it’s about preparing yourself so you can leave well.

And let me say this for the woman who is afraid:

You may have to budget differently.
You may have to sacrifice some comforts.
You may have to rebuild.

But what you gain?

Peace. Clarity. Freedom. Yourself.

And that is worth more than anything you think you might lose.

So Grown Woman Community…

Let’s talk.

What did getting unstuck look like for you?
Was it a mindset shift?
Was it finally walking away?
Was it choosing yourself for the first time?

Drop it in the comments.

Because somebody else is reading…
trying to find the courage to take their first step.

And your story might be the confirmation they’ve been praying for.
